Massive Spill As Militants Attack Forcados Export Line Again.

 Ovie Okpare, Warri Nigeria’s crude oil export has suffered a major setback as the reopened 48-inch offshore Forcados crude export line operated by Shell Petroleum Development Company in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State has been blown up again by suspected militants. The incident, which our correspondent gathered occurred last week Wednesday, has led to a massive crude oil spill in the sea and creeks around communities of Ogulagha Kingdom, which hosts to the Forcados terminal. Although no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, security sources told our correspondent on Tuesday that militants in the Niger Delta region were behind the destruction of the line. Security and community sources, who confirmed the incident, said the attack happened in the early hours of Wednesday last week. Police Reacts To Olu Falae's Ransom Claims.

The office of the Inspector-General of Police has been inundated with enquires on claims by Chief Olu Falae and his family that a ransom was paid to his abductors following the kidnapping incident involving him on 21st September, 2015 and eventual release on 24th September, 2015. As a law enforcement agency guided by rule of law and professional ethics we do not under any circumstance encourage the payment of ransom to kidnappers or other criminals as it is tantamount to rewarding crime and motivating other criminals to follow that path. As such, the Police was not in any way privy to any arrangement that would have led to payment of ransom by the elder statesman or his family.
